NOTICE OF MODIFICATION FOR NISIN IN VARIOUS FOODS

Health Canada (HC) has amended the "List of Permitted Preservatives" by allowing for nisin in foods like, but not limited to, baking mixes, liquid whole egg, unstandardized beverages containing fruit juice, sausage, refrigerated cooked potato-based products, unstandardized heat-treated low-acid sauces and unstandardized processed cheese products. {refer to actual List for conditions of use and permitted levels}
